Clive Harridge is the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Association of Planners and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).


In his “day job”, Clive is Director in Amec Foster Wheeler's Environment and Infrastructure  Division in the UK.  He is head of the company's Planning, Transport and Design team with over 80 planners, transport planners, urban designers and landscape architects.  Clive’s team operates throughout the UK providing services to property, Government, infrastructure, power, transport, water, mining, waste and other sectors.  The team provides advice supported by multi-disciplinary services covering environment, urban design, landscape, sustainability and engineering.
 

Clive was external examiner at Oxford Brookes University for several years and he is currently joint editor of the journal, Planning Practice and Research. In January 2003, Clive was identified by the Independent on Sunday Business News as one of the country's 'Top Ten' leading chartered town planners.

 Clive was President of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2006 - the first ever President elected by membership ballot. Clive's Presidential theme was "Get Real about Sustainable Development!" and he championed good practice in all aspects of sustainability.
 

Clive became a Freeman of the City of London in 2007.
