CAP Business Meeting Elects New President

At its biennial Business Meeting on 23rd – 25th November 2020, the CAP membership elected Eleanor Mohammed of Canada as its new President. Eleanor has worked alongside the outgoing President, Dyan Currie for the past six years in her role as President of CIP/ICU, the Canadian Institute of Planners. Eleanor is CAP’s first Canadian President. Congratulations to Eleanor!

President Dyan Currie meets with UN Habitat Executive Director

President Dyan Currie met with UN Habitat Executive Director General Maimunah Mohd Sharif recently while in Russia on 31/10 for the UN Habitat World Cities Day Observance. Ms Sharif is a planner by trade and was the Mayor of the City Council of Penang Malaysia before commencing office in UNH in 2018. Ms Sharif and President Currie were discussing the role of Stakeholders in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. President Currie is also the Co-Chair of the Stakeholder Advisory Group which was created in May as an global level consultative body and advisory body to the Executive Director.
